Rosemary Baker is a Director of Partnerships for the National Academy of Advanced Teacher Education. Prior to joining NAATE, Rosemary was the Director of Coaching for the Academy for Urban School Leadership (AUSL) in Chicago. In her 7 year tenure at AUSL, she helped build out the coaching program from a small 10 person team to a 25 person team that coached across 32 schools - all of them, the neediest in Chicago. Under her leadership, coaches facilitated the preparation and on-going support of hundreds of new teachers to teach in our schools at a high level and create positive climates where students thrive.
Rosemary's first love is teaching. Before AUSL, she taught for over a decade on the south side of Chicago in both Catholic and Charter schools. She enjoys reconnecting with her students as they grow up and graduate college.
Rosemary has a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Northwestern University and lives with her family in San Jose, California with her husband and three kids.
