The Manager, Program Operations is critical to NAATE’s capacity to deliver a first-class program from the moment a teacher is admitted to NAATE until they graduate.
NAATE is seeking a first rate, conscientious, hard-working individual who enjoys a fast-paced environment to lead operations for a high-octane program serving top-tier teachers. The position is central to all program logistics and coordination. It offers an opportunity for a highly detailed, highly organized self-starter to engage with all aspects of the program and all central staff of NAATE.
As a member of the Program Team, the Manager, Program Operations is responsible for ensuring high-quality execution and will have a broad set of responsibilities. The Manager, Program Operations will work closely with the Director of Programs on content programming, materials, and supply coordination. S/He will bridge planning and delivery of the NAATE Program and will seek to execute his/her responsibilities with a high attention to detail and organization.
The Manager, Program Operations will support NAATE as it moves from a start-up to a more mature second-stage organization, helping to build systems to support scaling current operations. The position is based out of NAATE’s New York office; candidate should live in or be willing to re-locate to the New York City area.
Project Management Work with Program Director to track critical program workstreams (curriculum development, scheduling, programming) Document management including tracking, production and distribution of program materials, such as pre-program readings, case materials, name tags, tent cards, and other stationary for multiple cohorts of teachers and school leaders. Manage post-program follow-up including, archiving of materials (board photos, case files, videos), issuing book orders, and managing copyrights Identify and negotiate with facilities for residential and classroom purposes and venues for events, including venue and hotel selection, arranging furniture rentals as needed, food and beverage, execution of events in program, and other transportation for Teacher Fellows Work with Program Director to track critical program workstreams (communication, travel, hotel contracts, event planning) Manage the tracking, production and distribution of communication to multiple cohorts of Teacher Fellows pre-, during and post-program Manage post-program follow-up including communications to Teacher Fellows, School Organizations and NAATE staff
Internal & External Communication Serve as one of the primary representatives of NAATE with external partners, Teacher Fellows, visitors and visiting faculty Serve as coordinator with Teacher Fellows regarding pre-program and post-program materials Develop and manage standardized approaches to correspondence with Faculty and Section Advisors regarding program details including schedule, program content and travel Develop and manage standardized approaches to correspondence with Teacher Fellows regarding program details Manage operations staffing during program
Experience, Skills & Characteristics Demonstrated experience in project management and implementation High standards for personal performance and demonstrated capacity to problem-solve and figure out solutions to obstacles as they are presented Love of planning, organizing and coordinating multiple aspects of work Close attention to detail as well as capacity to see big picture and interrelated parts of an operation Thorough and able to forecast necessary planning for execution of large-scale program Able to create and manage systems Capacity to prioritize multiple workstreams Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment Willingness to travel for in-residence sessions Good sense of humor Capacity to give and accept feedback Adept at Microsoft Excel and databases (i.e. Salesforce) Bachelor’s Degree required
